A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO CLUBGG

New to club poker? Here's the whole thing explained plainly — what ClubGG is, how it's different from a normal poker site, and how to sit down at your first table.

01What ClubGG is

ClubGG is a poker app built by the GGPoker Network. You download it free on your phone or computer, make an account, and play. The twist that makes it different from a normal poker room is this: the games are hosted inside private clubs. Instead of one big lobby open to everyone, ClubGG is a collection of private rooms, each run by its own club. To play, you join a club.

02Why clubs, not one big lobby

A normal online poker site is one company running one giant pool of players. ClubGG flips that. GGPoker builds and secures the software; independent clubs run the actual games, bring the players, and set the vibe. It's closer to a network of private card rooms than a single casino. That structure is why the games are often softer and friendlier — you're playing in a room with a community, not a faceless ocean of strangers — and it's why choosing the right club matters so much.

03The words you'll hear

Club poker has its own vocabulary. Here's the short glossary that unlocks the rest.

Club IDA six-digit code that opens a private club's room. You enter it in the app to find and apply to a club.
UnionAn alliance of clubs that pool their players together, so the tables stay busy. A club inside a big union means more action.
AgentThe person who handles your chips — loading you in, cashing you out, and supporting you. Your main point of contact.
Referral IDAn eight-digit code that links your application to a specific agent, so the right person is looking after you.
RakebackA share of the rake (the small cut taken from pots) paid back to you. A good club's biggest perk.

04How the money works

You don't deposit into a central cashier the way you would on a normal site. Instead, your agent handles it. You arrange chips with them, they load your account, and when you want to cash out, they pay you. This is exactly why the club and agent you choose matter more than anything else — a trustworthy agent makes the money side effortless, and an untrustworthy one is the entire risk. Play with a club that vets its people and honors payouts, and this becomes a non-issue.

Beginner's rule number oneNever send money to a club or agent you can't verify. A real club has a face, a history, and people who answer your questions before you deposit anything. Chip Cartel is one of them.

05How to actually start

It's simpler than it sounds. Download the ClubGG app and make an account. Pick a club worth joining. Message them to get the club ID and referral, apply inside the app, get approved, and arrange your chips with your agent. Then you sit down and play. Start with the lowest stakes while you get a feel for it — there's no rush, and the good tables run every night.

06Mistakes beginners make

Three of them, and all three are easy to avoid. The first is joining the first random club ID they find instead of a vetted one — that's how people get burned. The second is skipping the rakeback conversation; you're leaving free money on the table if you don't know your deal. The third is jumping into stakes too high for their bankroll on night one. Pick a trusted club, lock in your rakeback, start small, and you've already avoided every common trap.

07Where to go from here

That's the whole game, start to finish. ClubGG is a genuinely great place to play once you're inside the right room — soft games, real community, and rakeback that pays you to keep playing. The only decision that really matters is which club you sit down with. If you want one that vets every player, pays every winner, and treats you like family instead of traffic, you already know where to knock.
